This place has me confused as the word 'New' isn't on the signage out front, nor on the takeaway menu. I last ate from this place a few years ago and I recall I really wasn't impressed. Truth to tell, I find there aren't many good quality Chinese takeaways around any more and I note that the local chinese takeaways round my home town have raised their prices recently so we are now moving into rip off territory. Doesn't seem that long ago that the prices were hiked. Maybe it's the new generation, focussed only on maximising profit while cutting every corner. Anyway, mini rant over as I cook my own Chinese at home more often since I pick the quality of the meat and veg so I'm not ripped off as much. I enjoyed my food from here this time. It was pretty ok and gets a strong three stars. I had my usual king prawn (8) salt & chilli & boiled rice. Prawns were fairly good and the rice was just perfectly steam cooked. My family had a few salt and chilli chicken and these were overcooked and not as good as they should have been. Had they been better it would have been four star. The problem here is the potato starch used as the outside casing on the chicken. You can fry this stuff for a long time and it remains edible but if you are not experienced or careless you can end up drying out the chicken inside the coating as happened here. There was a chicken noodle dish was was quite good too. I also tried some of the fried rice too that came with the chicken dishes and it was better than most I've had recently. The last time I reviewed this place I said I regretted not going to the Red Panda. Now I reverse my view, in fact having been to the Antrim Red Panda recently I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

    Authentic Chinese .... not really

We stayed in a nearby village and felt like some chinese food. There are several options in town and this place got recommended by our host and also by some locals.

One thing first: If this place is already liked by customers....I don't wanna try the other options.

The menu is huge and sounds good. We went for a noodle dish and Szechuan Chicken. Both were mediocre - at best. No flavours, no spice. The so-called Szechuan was basically Sweet'n'Sour Chicken with a few chopped chillies. We've had authentic Szechuan before....and this is definitely not it.

Ok, both meals were edible, but that's just not enough. We didn't expect that much....but a bit more than that. Waiting time was 20mins up for take-away, for something that tasted like it just came right out of a buffet.
